Luciano Pocdaminsky

Luciano Podcaminsky was born in Buenos Aires on June 7th, 1970. He studied Media at the University of Buenos Aires, and then moved on to study Film at FUC. He also took courses on Film Direction with Pino Solanas and Rodolfo Hermida, and studied Copywriting at the Argentine Advertising Association. He started working in advertising as a copywriter for several advertising agencies and then moved to working in top production companies in Buenos Aires as an assistant director. 
He started directing approximately in 1995 and has received awards from the best well known festivals in the world: Cannes, El Sol de San Sebastian, One Show, D&AD de Londres, Clio, FIAP, Martin Fierro, Ojo de Iberoamerica and Diente. In 2005, he was part of the Saatchi & Saatchi new director’s showcase in Cannes.
 In 2006, he was ranked by the Gunn Report as 4th in the list of most award-winning directors of the world and in 2009, he appeared 15th at the Gunn Report ten years consolidated tables 1999-2008. His first feature film, The Third Pint, was selected for the 2007 Buenos Aires International Independent film festival (BAFICI) and it was also selected at the 2008 Edinburgh International film festival (EIFF) as one of the best of the fest films.
 His experience as a jury includes the following festivals: Clio 2008, London festival in 2009-2010 and Ojo de Iberoamérica 2009. In June 2012, at Centro Cultural Recoleta Buenos Aires, Argentina, he opened his first personal art exhibition with the works Sundead, Just Married, Room Available, Private Dinner and Daily Pill. In September 2016, Luciano was included in “Bury the Lead”, a group art show at Art Share Los Angeles, California.
In 2017, his short film, The Back of My Mind, was selected for interfilm Berlin International Short Film Festival, and in 2018 it was selected for the Guadalajara International film festival in Mexico, the Lleida festival and the 46th Huesca film festival in Spain and the Latino Media Festival in Los Angeles, California.​
