Pino is a second-generation penguin, the son of Italian immigrants to London in the 1980s, who transferred to him an indelible passion for Italian music of the 1960s and 1970s… Pino is a smart and rebellious penguin: the broad melodies and bel canto got under his skin and exploded like the most stubborn of purulent pustules on his teenage skin, leading him to found, together with his friends Paular (a polar bear) and Sardynia (a very sexy sardine), the most irreverent of punk bands. Amidst roars of guitars and wild garrulousness, Pino and the Penguins trod the filthiest underground stages of 1990s London, reaching unhoped-for heights of success. After ten years of hymning mobs, revelry, and frenzied groupies, the musical world changed with the advent of social media.
